Awesome show alert - Damages!

Remember how I said Damages was an awesome awesome thriller. Thirteen heart-pounding episodes. We downloaded and watched it this summer since we can't get F/X (the channel it's on). But I just saw a commercial that said it's coming to Showcase (only in Canada) on February 18. You MUST watch this one. You won't be disappointed.

New TV Run-down.

Amazing Race - I know this is old news already, but I have some comments on the finale.

- I'm not sad that TK and Rachel won, but it would have been nice to see a team with an older member win - totally beating the odds. Ron and Christina had done so well up to the last complicated (!) challenge. I felt bad for them. And Nick forgetting the bag at the supply shop - so sad.

- I kept thinking they were calling Ship Creek - "Shit Creek".

- Who knew cod were so big?

- I am just in awe that Don is almost 70. I can only hope to be that spry at 70.

- Why can't they make the finale at least 2 hours long???? I feel so ripped off that it is only an hour like every other episode.

- I have no idea when the next Amazing Race will be on. But I am hoping it will be sooner than later.

***

Friday Night Lights - That was the most boring FNL episode ever. I even fast-forwarded through some of it. So predictable. I hope the last few episodes are better.

***

Cashmere Mafia - Anyone watching this? I'm really liking it. I will talk about it if I know others are watching.

An update on TAR 12...

The Amazing Race 12 - Last episode we saw the "Philimination" of Nate and Jen. OMG. Good riddance. They were both so miserable (albeit, her more than him). And what kind of logic is it that a bus is faster than a taxi???? In my experience a bus stops fifty million times and a taxi does not...

I am soooo sad that this Sunday's episode is the last. I've enjoyed this season so much.

Who would have put money on Whosyourdaddy & Christina and Grandpa & Nick making the final three? Not me, that's for sure. Especially after Whosyourdaddy had the hernia trouble in the second episode. Wow. Just wow.

I've even grown to like Whosyourdaddy - he's made a real effort to change. What a man. And you gotta love Grandpa. He makes me laugh. When he commented on how Nick carries his pack for him, "Yeah, he's my bitch." Too funny.

I don't know who will win. On paper, the Hippies looks strong (young, relaxed, smart) but you can't rule out Whosyourdaddy and Christina who have finished first how many times? And I think it would just be awesome if Grandpa and Nick pulled an upset and won the whole thing.

It's refreshing not to have a team to root against in the final three. That just stresses me out when there is danger of a hateful couple winning a million dollars.

Not much else new this week. Anyone watching Cashmere Mafia? I saw the first episode and it was decent (although my standards might be a lot lower than normal since the beginning of this writers' strike...). How about the new Terminator show? I didn't get through the first episode. Not interesting enough for me.

We are currently in the process of downloading the first season of The Wire. I've heard over and over again how this is the best show on TV. I will keep you posted....

New Grey's Anatomy Last Night.

Last episode for a long long time (maybe til next September - gasp!). Thoughts:

- I'm sorry but I cannot find any sympathy for Tucker. Your wife is a DOCTOR! Stop being such a cry-baby about it. Trying to finally start a conversation when she is running out the door - ridiculous.

- My heart just dropped when I saw that xray of baby Tuck.

- George and Izzy aren't still together, are they?

- Meredith being nice to Lexie - refreshing.

- Meredith and Derek breaking up AGAIN - this BETTER be the last time.

- I like Rose.

- What happened to Karev in his childhood?

Overall, a good episode. I will miss this show.

New Friday Night Lights episode tonight - wheeeeeeeeee!!!

Long time, no post.

Before Christmas, nothing much seemed to be new. But on Friday I was shocked to see a new Friday Night Lights episode. With more to come. Awesome. Observations:

- Funny when Tami walked by her sister who was oggling Tim Riggins and said, "ewwwww".

- Poor poor misunderstood Tim Riggins.

- Julie continues to drive me crazy. Although I think she's probably acting like a typical teenaged girl.

- Tyra has nice hair. When the long pieces on the side don't look like wings.

And Desperate Housewives was new, too! (But this is the last new episode until the writers' strike is over.)

- Wow - quick reveal as to who died in the tornado. I would have thought they would have dragged it out longer.

- RIP Ida, Gabby's husband and Al the Accountant.

- I can't believe Gabby and Carlos are really broke.

- What could have Kathryn done that was soooooo bad?

- Not really surprised that Bree tried to pimp out her son. And that he went for it.

And I'm still loving The Amazing Race.

- They TOTALLY made us think that the hippies were eliminated - the way they were showing the interviews and them finishing the leg with all sentimental music. I'm glad they will be around for another episode but it does seem like impossible for them - being behind 3 hours AND having to do a speed bump.

- (BTW - I like the speed bump instead of them losing all their money.)

- How are Whosyourdaddy and Cristina and Grandpa and Nick doing so well in this race? They are totally beating the odds.

- Doesn't Nick look too young to be out of high school, never mind old enough to be a pilot?

- How annoying are Nate and Jen? When he told her he couldn't listen to her because he was distracted by the cab driver driving? I bet he doesn't do well around shiny objects either.....

Finally, did you hear? Dexter is coming to CBS! So if you haven't caught it on Showtime or Movie Central, here's your chance. Scott and I finished the second season over the holidays and it was fantastic. Quality TV. But like I mentioned before, not for the faint of heart.
