Red Carpet Review

Tilda Swinton frightens me. I thought she just had on award-winning makeup when I saw her in The Chronicles of Narnia, but she really does look like this!
Sissy Spacek has worn this same suit to every awards show in the last decade for sure.

File this picture under: Too Damn Skinny. Somebody pass Renee Zellweger a Snickers.

Penelope Cruz continues to favour dresses with feather details.

I know nothing of the Hannah Montana phemomenon since I do not have daughters, but I thought this dress was perfect for her. The style, the colour, just perfect.

Marion Cotillard in a real live fish dress. Complete with scales.

You know I am not a fan of beige-coloured dresses, but Keri Russel can do no wrong in my books. She is adorable.
Kelly Preston continues to get the colour wrong wrong wrong.

This is a fantastic dress for Katherine Heigl (although I'm sure there is no dress that would look terrible on her).

McDreamy's wife (Jill Fink) is wearing a dreamy dress. Love the colour.

I usually love anything Jennifer Garner wears. But not this time. Too much horizontal rouching and crazy ruffles at the bottom. Nevermind the fact that her hair was driving me batty while she was presenting an award.

This is a great dress for Ellen Page. I was going to say it was "age appropriate", thinking she was a teenager, but then I found out she just turned 21. Anyway, it's very nice and looks great on her.

What was your favourite red carpet dress?

I actually didn't watch it...I know, I know...crazy! But, your recap is so much better!

I completely agree with all your comments...and from what you posted, I have to say that McDreamy's wife's dress was my favourite. That horrible yellow one and the "fish" one were TERRIBLE!

Montana Banana (or whatever, I have sons, too) needs to shut.her.mouth. Cute to look at, but sounds like a dumb-ass when she speaks.

Can Renee Zellweger pose a little harder? And in addition to the Snickers bar, can someone please help her open her eyes?

Worst moment of the night: Heigl's "Oh, poor me...I have to present an award and I'm so terrified!" Are you kidding me? She's hired to present an award to someone and she has a spaz and makes it all about her. Haaaaaaate her. She needs to take a class (about having some) from Jennifer Garner.

I usually try to watch the Academy Awards, but only saw a few minutes this year. The only dress I saw was Helen Mirren's. I thought she looked striking and lovely in her red dress.

Oh my God, I'm laughing over the "but she really does look like this in real life" comment. When I saw here, I was trying to figure out why she looked eerily familiar, and then Rich goes, "Wow, she's scary even when she's not the White Witch".

Is it me, or do all the Hollywood make-up artists have the wrong idea with the heavy heavy matte foundation and dark eyes? I mean, people that I think are naturally beautiful, like Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Garner, looked so OLD with all that CRAP caked on their faces. I do not like this trend at all.

The only dress that sticks out in my mind was Jennifer Hudson's...and not in a good way. When she walked out, I actually said out loud "Oh dear, that's just wrong".

Some of your comments caused me to laugh out loud. Very entertaining recap. I watched it on and off. Anna saw Kelly in her yellow dress and said "Mom...it's Belle!" (from Beauty and the Beast). With her brown hair tied back like that....Anna thought her dress was just "beautiful". It certainly stuck out!

While on the TV blog....are you caught up with Big Brother?? Any comments? I've been waiting for you to say something! I have comments!
